Xin chào,
This message is to the fellow students, ex-students and future students of Tieng Viet Oi who trust us with your Vietnamese learning journey.
Recently, we've been making Vietnamese video lessons and listening materials for you guys who are learning Vietnamese language to practice and study online. We're trying our best to create good quality videos on a more regular basis. The thing is our budget ain't enough to speed up the process. As you know, we are a small group of Vietnamese teachers with a small number of teachers. Everyone in the team, from the founders, managers and teachers are actual teachers who are passionate about teaching. Our aim is, and has always been, to create an environment that teachers feel like they are respected and treated well, not like in many centers where teachers are unfairly treated and poorly paid. As a result, we don't have much profit and with very little that we make we invest in academic and marketing activities like training teachers, building curriculum, making videos, website, online marketing etc.
Fortunately, we found out about Patreon and think this can be a great way that can actually make a difference in our work. Basically, Patreon is where you can financially support us by pledging / donating a small amount of money (from $1) for each video we make. In return, we will give you rewards (like weekly Vietnamese tips, private Q&A live-stream, special video upon request etc.).
In order to do this, visit our Patreon page, click "Become a patron" and follow the simple instruction. The way it works is that every time we post a new video on Patreon, you'll pledge $1 (or more depending on your choice). Don't worry if we make too many videos though because you can set your monthly limit for your donation. So for example, if you pledge $1 per video and set a limit of $5 a month then even if we make more than 5 videos a month, you will only be charged $5. Also, you can cancel your donation any time you want. Everything is just a few clicks on Patreon site.
Please don't pressure to do so though. The videos are uploaded on Youtube and are still free for you to watch. We really appreciate your support on our channel and really couldn't ask for more. However, if you want to and are able to help us, consider this as a way to do so.
Thank you so much for reading this. No matter what you choose to do, whether to go ahead with it or not, we are grateful to have known you, studied with you and accompanied you during this Vietnamese journey.
Please share the information to your friends, colleagues or anyone you know that might be interested.
Cảm ơn,
Tieng Viet Oi Team
